Hazel

When 13-year-old Hazel was surrendered to the shelter in June, she was severely overweight and struggling with multiple health issues. The clinic staff at Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA immediately fell in love with this easy-going girl and got straight to work getting her adoption-ready.

Roxie

Senior girl Roxie was a stray who found herself in an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina. Petey and Furends stepped in to transport her to Washington D.C. in hopes that greater exposure may help her chances of being adopted.

Petey and Furends uses grant money from Grey Muzzle for a program called Project SoAR (Seniors on Amazing Retirements). This program helps senior dogs receive medical care and treatment that help remove barriers to adoption.

Carly

Carly's owners recently noticed that she wasn't her usual happy self. She was lethargic and not interested in eating. Concerned, they took 14-year-old Carly to their local ER, where she was diagnosed with a terrible infection. Carly needed life-saving emergency surgery, but the estimated cost was overwhelming to her loving family.

Rudy

Rudy, an eight-year-old Mini Dachshund, took a bad tumble off the couch earlier this fall. He was having trouble getting around the house and was reluctant to go for his usual walks. His loving owner was very worried but was on medical leave herself and couldn't afford an expensive emergency evaluation.

Sweet Rudy is her constant companion and has helped her through a difficult life chapter, so it was very tough to see him struggling and in pain. Luckily, she was referred to the FACE Foundation by an emergency veterinarian.

Buddy

Buddy came to the Humane Society of North Texas as an abandoned stray who was severely malnourished. A medical exam revealed that this special senior was also suffering from advanced cancer.

However, Buddy hasn’t let his diagnosis diminish his spirit. HSNT utilizes grant money from Grey Muzzle to provide continued care for “fospice” dogs. Buddy has already gained eight pounds and is doing well on medication and prescription food.
