A Grey Muzzle grant to the Nebraska Humane Society (NHS) will support dental treatments for senior dogs, improving their overall health and increasing their chances of adoption. NHS strives to remove as many hurdles to adoption as possible for dogs like sweet Chloe, an eight-year-old Pomeranian mix, who came to NHS with extremely matted fur and rotting teeth.  Chloe had a major dental extraction and cleaning performed by NHS medical staff. She is now smiling and feeling much better as she charms potential adopters!

The Nebraska Humane Society (NHS) serves the Omaha, NE metro area.  An open admission shelter, NHS takes a holistic approach that is focused on achieving the best medical and behavioral outcome for each of the thousands of animals treated each year. In 2021, 15,356 domestic animals came to NHS, averaging 593 animals in their care each day.
