KodiakCare saves dogs by funding critical veterinary care to families lacking financial means. They partner with animal hospitals to help families avoid the heartbreaking and tragic decision of surrendering or euthanizing their dog simply because they can’t afford medical treatment. With KodiakCare’s help, families can get the care they need for their dogs and bring their beloved pets back home. KodiakCare works with large non-profit veterinary hospitals in eight metropolitan areas across the United States.

Funding from The Grey Muzzle Organization will save senior dogs needing life-saving medical care beyond their family’s means. KodiakCare knows that the best place for a dog, especially a senior dog, is with their family, and finances should not be a barrier. Sasha, a 10-year-old corgi and Chihuahua mix, is just one senior dog KodiakCare has saved. Sasha developed thrombocytopenia, a life-threatening condition that causes a low platelet count, bruising, and bleeding. The necessary treatment and follow-up care were beyond what her owner could afford. KodiakCare stepped in and, with the help of Grey Muzzle funding, got Sasha the life-saving care she needed so she could return home.
