How we helped:
Seniors for seniors adoption program grant

Bootsie is a very well-mannered, seven-year-old, happy little terrier mix. She ended up with our new grantee, Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) in Indiana, after her family could no longer care for her. Other than thinking walking on a leash is weird (she likely was carried for most of her life), this little gal was "move-in ready."

A seasoned gentleman named Bill reached out to VHS and applied to adopt Bootsie. When he came in to meet her, he simply fell in love with her. Without really knowing much about their Senior Pets program, which waives adoption fees for senior dogs for senior people and funded in part by Grey Muzzle, he jokingly asked, "I'm 80, do I get a discount?" And the VHS staff laughed and said, "YES! You actually do!"

Bootsie and Bill went home together at the end of September. You can create more perfect matches like Bootsie and Bill.Bootsie is a very well-mannered, seven-year-old, happy little terrier mix.
