Angels of Assisi (AOA) started in 2001 in an RV and aimed to reduce the pet population in Roanoke with a low-cost spay/neuter mobile hospital. They have grown tremendously over the past 23 years and now have a full-service clinic, surgery center, shelter, off-site pet food pantry, and many programs. They will be moving into a new state-of-the-art building offering all this and more, including grooming, more exam rooms, a six-table surgical suite, and a brand-new CT machine.

A Grey Muzzle grant will support AOA's community outreach efforts. They identified five senior living communities that allow pets. They will send their transport truck to each facility twice a year to pick up senior dogs, take them to their facility, provide veterinary care at 25% off already-reduced rates, and return them to the arms of their loving owners.
