Dana M. TharpDirector of Grants & Engagement
Dana began her career in Operations Management and Marketing within the financial industry, working with several Fortune 500 companies. However, her passion for animal welfare led her to co-found All Fur One Pet Rescue and Adoptions in 2018. Since then, she has specialized in engagement and relationship-building strategies for animal welfare organizations.
As the Director of Grants & Engagement, Dana leads Grey Muzzle’s grantmaking strategy, managing the full lifecycle of grants from application through reporting. She fosters strong, trust-based relationships with grantees, elevating their voices and empowering them to communicate their lifesaving efforts on behalf of senior dogs.
Dana is especially dedicated to advocating for long-stay and harder-to-place pets, like senior dogs, and brings that same passion to the people behind the scenes. She believes the animal welfare teams partnering with Grey Muzzle deserve to feel seen, valued, and supported as their work is essential to giving senior dogs the second chances they deserve. Her role helps ensure these teams have the resources and recognition they need to create lasting impact in their communities.
