The Humane Society For Hamilton County (HSHC) in Indiana didn't think twice about pulling Ethel from a local shelter and accepting her into their adoption program. This 13-year-old gal was at risk of euthanasia due to her age and chronic medical issues, but HSHC knew she had a lot of life left to live and love left to give.
Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, Ethel received all of the medical care and TLC she desperately needed. She was given medications for both her ear and skin infections, and also put on joint supplements to help with pain and inflammation.
Not too long after her treatments, Ethel's story was shared on social media. The response from the community was heartwarming. A woman found Ethel's story and came to HSHC that day to meet her. A few days later, Ethel was snuggling under blankets in her forever home and freely enjoying the great outdoors.
