How we helped:
Medical expense grant for adoptable dogs

Though loving and adorable, eight-year-old Angel wasn’t in tiptop condition when her former owners surrendered her to Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio (AHDRO), with hopes that someone else could give her a better life. When she arrived at AHDRO, she had infected ears and several teeth that needed to be extracted. But the direct manifestation of her poor health was a severe inflammation on both of her lips and vulva that needed to be treated immediately. She was also diagnosed with a mild form of Lupus. Thanks to a medical expense grant from Grey Muzzle, Angel spent many days at the veterinarian’s office for treatment, biopsies and other diagnostics before being restored to good health. Her indomitable spirit and beautiful smile intact, Angel was ready to be adopted and shortly thereafter found her perfect home with doting parents Roberta and Randy. Thankfully, Angel's new parents are devoted to medically managing her Lupus symptoms and providing whatever else Angel needs. Today Angel leads a busy and fulfilling life by patrolling her yard daily and delighting her family in many ways. Randy loves taking her on car rides and declares she is a Steelers fan!

Like many other seniors helped by Grey Muzzle, Angel is getting the happy ending she deserves. “Grey Muzzle assisted us with the extraordinary costs associated with giving a second chance to a senior dog. We are honored to be partnered with them and we are so grateful for their generosity,” says Cheryl, president of AHDRO. Angel’s sign says it all!
