Pet Animal Welfare Society of CT (PAWS) is dedicated to the rescue and adoption of their community’s homeless and abused dogs and cats. They have been helping animals in need since 1962, and are proud to have rescued and placed more than 900 cats and dogs last year.

PAWS is honored to receive a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization to help more senior dogs become healthy and live out their retirement years in the comfort of a loving home, dogs like eight-year-old Ton and 15-year-old Muneco, a bonded pair who came to PAWS when their owner could no longer care for them. These two best pals spend their days cuddling together in their foster home while they await their forever family.

PAWS will promote senior dog adoption by waiving the adoption fee and making sure all senior dogs receive  needed medical and dental surgeries while in their care.  PAWS will also help senior dog owners by covering a portion of their dogs’ medical costs and/or offering free dental surgeries. Their goal is to keep senior pets with their people and out of the shelter.
