Abby Ouimet

Leadership
Communications Director

Abby Ouimet is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and brings a proven track record of 16 years’ nonprofit experience to The Grey Muzzle Organization. She has worked for national, regional and local nonprofits and has extensive experience in strategic planning, program development, institutional giving, annual giving, team management, special events, financial management and community engagement. Notably, she served as part of the executive leadership team of an open intake facility in Western Washington that lowered its euthanasia rate from 38% to 6% in just two years. She also served as executive director of a humane society in Northern Florida, working to stabilize their finances, and expand their budget, brand and community programs. She genuinely enjoys connecting donors to causes they’re passionate about and coaching staff and volunteers to love what they do. She is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Public Relations.

Abby lives in beautiful Lake Tahoe, CA, with her husband Adam and sons Sawyer and River. She formerly shared her home with two senior dogs, Diego and Torreya, who both crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2017. She hopes to instill compassion in her children and teach them about the powerful human-animal bond. In her spare time – which is rare! – she enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking and sailing with her family and volunteering for animal, women and children’s organizations. She also loves reading and is a die-hard college football fan. Go Noles!
