    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Medical Expense Grant

Smoke came to Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) in the summer of 2010 with 30 other Chihuahuas rescued from a hoarding situation. Philadelphia’s Animal Control officers pulled more than 100 Chihuahuas from a South Philadelphia home where they were living in deplorable conditions.

As is often the case for animals rescued from hoarding situations, many had no prior medical care and many required extensive socialization. MLAR along with several other area rescue groups stepped forward to take in these little dogs in need. Thanks to a grant from Grey Muzzle, Smoke and the others received much-needed medical care.

Over the years, MLAR has adopted most of these wonderful little guys to loving homes, but today, they still have a few that remain in their care. Smoke is one of those still searching for a forever home. He is about nine years old and, in one word, is a scholar. He is one super-smart dog. He knows how to persuade anyone with those big brown eyes to get some love, toys or treats. He knows sit, stay, down and paw.

From not knowing even how to be a dog when he first arrived to learning all these news tricks proves he really is a superstar. Smoke would do great with a family that has a buddy for him to show off to and older kids too. If you are interested in learning more about Smoke, please contact Main Line Animal Rescue directly.
