    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Other: Post Adoption Support

At eight years old, Rufus is all smiles with his new family after receiving many months of treatments for severe ear infections and heartworm disease. Thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant that you made possible, he's finally free of pain and looking forward to happy, healthy days ahead.

Rufus' new mom said: "Our 11-year-old dog, Luther, passed away unexpectedly. Our hearts were broken, and I struggled with how empty the house felt without him.

"My son and I drove down to Nate's Honor Animal Rescue to meet 8-year-old Rufus. We were told before we drove down that he did have some medical conditions but that he was a dog with so much love to give. The minute he was brought out of the shelter doors and we saw his face we were in love. We spent time in the fenced-in area with him learning more about his medical issues, treatment protocols, and his overall health. His personality shined through and he gave us big sloppy kisses immediately. We took him home that day, and he proceeded to show us he was definitely a dog full of love and funny antics.

"We are so thankful to everyone who helped us at Nate's and to The Grey Muzzle Organization for helping with all the medical treatments Rufus needs. Without them, Rufus's life may have looked a lot different, and we wouldn't have had the chance to love him and be loved by him. We can't imagine our life without him and cannot thank everyone enough for everything!"

Congratulations to Rufus and his wonderful new family.
