Rogue

    How Grey Muzzle Helped
    Medical Expense Grant

Sweet, eight-year-old Rogue came into the Humane Society of Indianapolis with a broken upper canine tooth and some additional medical needs that were addressed before she was available for adoption. Rogue was a little particular – she was looking for a home without cats or small dogs, though other large dogs would be fine. As a result of her age and special needs, sweet Rogue was in the care of Indy Humane for over two months, having a hard time finding her perfect match. Due to her long length of stay, they waived her adoption fee – thanks to a grant from Grey Muzzle.

While in the shelter, it became clear that Rogue loves daily exercise, whether walks around the neighborhood or hikes through the woods. She is a spunky senior girl who loves attention, loves to play (especially with soft toys) and to follow her nose and explore. She is still quite energetic for her age, very friendly and very food-motivated, so she excels at treat-based training.

Eventually, her new family found her. Her adopter, who is studying to be a veterinary technician, came in looking specifically for an older dog and Rogue was the gal! She now has a loving family and a new doggie brother and everyone at Indy Humane couldn't be happier for her.
