Bruno Mars is an 11-year-old poodle mix who arrived to the Cumberland County SPCA as a stray. They did some tracking based on his tag, and it seems that he made it to their shelter all the way from Puerto Rico! Unfortunately, they were not able to locate his owner, but they were able to improve his life pretty drastically, thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization.

First order of business was a grooming, as he was matted and filthy, and next up was finding him a foster home. Once they had him cleaned up and in a loving home, they were able to address his medical issues - horrible teeth (grade 4/4 dental disease) and what turned out to be bilateral inguinal (undescended) testicles. He received a comprehensive dental and had most of his teeth removed, and the vet was able to resolve his testicles, as to avoid health issues developing later.

Bruno Mars had a rough time recovering, as he developed kennel cough after surgery, but fortunately he's with a great foster home who has been diligent about making sure he is comfortable and loved while he recovers. Even though the staff is not sure where he came from, they know he'll get to where he's going - the best forever home he can find.

Bruno Mars is still available for adoption. You can make sure that all senior dogs like him get the care they need and find the families they deserve.
