Ella is such a good-natured and happy companion! Things Ella enjoys include: any toy that squeaks, catching treat tossed to her, lounging on the couch, and telling her foster dad when it's dinner time. She delights everyone who meets her!
Not too long ago, however, this sweet senior girl was three-legging it at a central CA shelter shelter. She had a very swollen left front leg with a lot of scarring at her wrist, as well as an open fistula into her bone. She had extensive infection in the bones of her lower leg, and her foot and all of her wrist ligaments were torn. Our veterinarian felt the only viable option was to amputate.
We amputated Ella's left front leg and, showing typical boxer resiliency, she was quickly back to greeting effusively, eating well, and damaging her tail with her happy tail wag. Ella would love to be your best friend! She does well with other dogs after a controlled introduction and would enjoy a home with older children.
