(Virtual) Summer Ice Cream Social
To Benefit Homeless Senior Dogs

We're making it easy and fun for you to bring together your friends, family and colleagues online to make a big difference for old dogs without breaking anybody's wallet. Plus you can get ice cream
(Ben & Jerry's!) and maybe even a free T-shirt! Here's the scoop...

Grey Muzzle has a new account with FirstGiving.com. This site allows you to make your own personal online fundraising page to benefit Grey Muzzle. You won't believe how easy it is.
 
Here's what you do:

• Set up a custom page at www.FirstGiving.com/GreyMuzzle to benefit the Grey Muzzle Organization. It’s free, fast, easy and fun!. If you can shop online, you can make a FirstGiving page (except you don't have to get out your credit card). Email social@greymuzzle.org if you have any difficulties.
• Email your friends, family, co-workers. Post your link on FaceBook and MySpace. FirstGiving makes it easy to do this.

Here's what we'll do:

• Post an ice cream cone on our Ice Cream Social page in honor of your fundraising effort when your page reaches just $25 or more. You can label the cone in honor of someone, somedog, a group, a business, or name it whatever you like (within reason) – like the examples above. Email social@greymuzzle.org to get your virtual cone on our ice cream page.
• Send you a gift certificate for a free pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream for the first $50 that you raise.
• Send you a Grey Muzzle T-shirt ($18 value) for every $100 that you raise. If you raise $200, you get 2 T-shirts. Yup that's in addition to the ice cream! That way you can spill ice cream on your new T-shirt.
• If you are raising money for a gift for someone else, at your request (and for free) we'll send your honoree a Certificate of Donation acknowledging your group's gift. Scroll down our Donations page for examples of Certificates of Donation. Email social@greymuzzle.org to request a Certificate.

No one needs a reason to help old dogs, but here are some suggestions to make the page more fun.

1. Set a goal! While many of us can’t afford to write a $500 check, we may know people who can give $5, $10, or $25. As they say, it takes a village!
2. Ask friends, family, co-workers to donate in lieu of a birthday (human or dog!), wedding, shower or anniversary.
3. Raise money in honor or in memory of your dog, or to celebrate a new adoption.
4. Collect funds from clients or members on behalf of your company or business (and double the amount if your company matches gifts!).
