Senior Dog Haven & Hospice, Inc. received a desperate plea from a shelter in Philadelphia. This little girl was not eating, drinking or able to walk. At 11 years old, this American Eskimo was surrendered to the shelter because she had had a seizure. They rushed her to the vet and discovered she had severe pyometra, an infection of the uterus common among dogs that have not been spayed. Her seizures were most likely caused by the infection. She would not have survived the night without surgery.
Thanks to a grant from Grey Muzzle, she received the surgery she needed and recuperated in the hospital for 10 days. Within five days of her release from the hospital, Mimi was adopted! She is now living her happily ever after with another Senior Dog Haven and Hospice alum.
