Gift Donations in honor of or in memory of
If you are looking for a very special gift in honor of a birthday, wedding, or other special occasion, you may want to consider a gift donation in honor of your recipient. Or, perhaps you'd like to make a donation in memory of a departed friend, human or pet. Donate in our
Store and Gift Shop (rather than using our standard Donate button above) and we will custom print your gift message on a beautiful special occasion certificate. There is no additional cost, and you have the option of creating a gift package by adding a keepsake, wristband, or book.
Corporate Matching Gifts
With matching gifts you can sometimes double or even triple your gift! Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your employer if a matching gift policy is available at your workplace.
Donate Your Vehicle
A vehicle donation is one of the simplest ways for you to make a gift to The Grey Muzzle Organization and help senior dogs.
Cars, trucks, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles are gladly accepted nationwide. Laws require that you have the title of the car. The IRS permits you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax return for the gross sale of your vehicle. If the gross sale of the vehicle is greater than $500, the IRS will expect you to fill out Form 8283, "Non-cash Charitable Contributions."
We have partnered with Vehicles for Charity to process donated vehicles. Let them know you want the donation to go to The Grey Muzzle Organization. For more information and instructions, please click HERE or call 1-866-628-2277 to arrange for your vehicle to be collected.
Donate Stocks
Donating stock to charity is a smart approach to philanthropy. Stock gifts have several advantages over cash. When you give stock that has grown in value since you bought it, no capital gains are paid. This allows you to give more to the organization at less cost to yourself. Plus, you can take a tax deduction for the larger amount of the donation.
For electronic transfers, we will need the Depository Trust Company (DTC) number, account name, tax ID number and account number. If you are mailing the stock certificate, you must send us a stock waiver form and stock power form.
Notify us once you have sent your gift. Keep records of all communication for tax purposes. Take the appropriate deduction on your next income tax return. Please seek advice from your accountant or lawyer if there is any confusion.
