Beds For Senior Dogs
The Grey Muzzle Organization maintains a fund to provide orthopedic beds and cots to old dogs who are living in shelters, rescues, or sanctuaries.
The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County received a donation of beds from Grey Muzzle. Here is what they had to say:

"We just received the soft beds, and the dogs LOVE them. Especially the old Rottweiler. It took him a whole minute to raise himself off his blankets and make a beeline for the new bed. I could almost hear the sigh he let out."
The bed fund is made possible through your donations. And because you are donating to the fund rather than purchasing the bed yourself, your donation is tax deductible.
In the past three years, with your help, we have donated over $6,700 worth of orthopedic beds to more than 30 shelters around the country.
Your donation helps to expand this program to more shelters. Cement floors in shelters are particularly uncomfortable for older dogs. Orthopedic beds can help old dogs get adopted. Old dogs lying on cement floors or even just blankets on a hard floor may limp when they get up to greet people, which can make them less appealing to a potential adopter.
Donate a bed
Donate a bed below. Grey Muzzle receives manufacturer discounts on all beds. Whenever possible, we save money by buying in volume or during sales. The donation amount shown for each bed fully covers shipping, as well as all of the accessories shown below.
There are two bed choices with several sizes each. Both have proven to be durable, comfortable, and therapeutic for seniors.
1. Deluxe orthopedic foam bed with a washable cover and waterproof liner.

2. Kuranda bed with extra heavy vinyl cover recommended for shelters. Includes a washable fleece topper for extra "cuddliness."
