Cheryl Rakich - Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio

We want to take this time to thank you all at Grey Muzzle for helping  us to rescue to four senior dogs over the last year.  Without your grants, I seriously doubt we could have afforded to take in those senior dogs and find them permanent homes or placements.

Dr. Brian Lapham

The Grey Muzzle organization is one of the many pet-oriented groups that I work with. They have contributed to the well-being of countless older pets, and instruction to their human counterparts in numerous ways. They are a top-drawer, top-notch group of dedicated individuals.

CCSPCA Foster Care Coordinator Maria Stoerrle

“[In] our second year as a Grey Muzzle grant recipient, we became even more comfortable with our ability to save senior dogs. Saving the seniors has become an expectation, not an exception.”

Cecily Joque - Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County

If they have a week, if they have a month, does it really matter? If you treat them with kindness and respect, and give them a cushy bed, they'll love you for it.

Deborah Workman - The Sanctuary for Senior Dogs

There's nothing like an old dog.  Nothing like the love of an old dog.  The forgiveness, the devotion.  You see gratitude in their eyes.  It's just words until you experience it.

Dr. Fred Metzger - Metzger Animal Hospital

For a shelter to do all the things that are necessary is impossible - basic screening, dentals, monitoring....We need to get the older dogs out [of the shelters], get them adopted.

Judith Piper - Executive Director, OldDog Haven

There needs to be an advocate for senior dogs in all sorts of places. It's difficult for shelters and it breaks everyone's hearts. We need to encourage more places for senior dogs to go—we get calls from shelters all over the country, 50 times per week, to take dogs...

Lauren Glickman - Foray Consulting

I have been on the Advisory Board of The Grey Muzzle Organization since 2009. This dedicated group of volunteers offers grants and resources to rescues and shelters that promote senior dog programs and adoption. Their efforts are national and they help senior dogs receive the care they need and the dignity they deserve. I encourage everyone to support this unique organization so they can expand their reach and help more of the grey muzzles out there.

South Bend Animal Care and Control

About a month ago the shelter applied for two special beds through The Grey Muzzle Organization. The mats were given to SBACC with very specific instructions of exclusive use with the elderly homeless dogs that pass through our care. We are very excited to receive this meaningful gift from another animal welfare organization. A special and warm thanks goes out to The Grey Muzzle Organization for these beds!
