    How Grey Muzzle Helped
Medical expense grant for adoptable dogs
    Organization

    June 2012

Dylan has been adopted! Check him out with his new family below, who saw one of his postings, immediately fell in love and drove six hours to get him.

Meet Dylan, a Cocker Spaniel charmer who arrived as a stray at Cumberland County SPCA of NJ blind, deaf and in abominable condition. A big scar on top of his head suggested he'd lost his vision and hearing after being hit with something. He would crash into his kennel walls and couldn't find his feeding dishes. With help from a Grey Muzzle grant to support his care, Dylan was placed in a foster home immediately and his restoration began. He required medication for a parasite infection and ear infection. He was brought up to date on vaccines and his ears healed quickly, but nothing could be done for his eyes. Surprisingly, he adjusted quickly to new routines. The lovable boy proved to be housebroken and very outgoing with people and other animals. Dylan's foster mom raves about his progress: "He's so fortunate and he has taught me so much. I never imagined that a blind/hearing-impaired dog could live such a normal life...he's a gem."

CCSPCA has received $8,000 in Grey Muzzle funding since 2010 to help senior dogs at their rural shelter with medical care and foster homes that would not be possible without our grant.
